Inside Patina Interior Design’s Maui Studio

Inspiration
Patina Interior Design’s Maui studio is located at 33 N. Market Street, Suite 201 in Wailuku. Designed as a working studio, material library, and collaborative environment, the space supports our residential and hospitality projects throughout Hawaiʻi and gives our team a place to develop ideas, review finishes, and work through the details of each project.

A MATERIAL-DRIVEN STUDIO

The studio was developed around the materials we work with every day—wallcoverings, textiles, wood, stone, lighting, finishes, and furnishings. Layering these elements in the studio allows us to explore combinations in person and create interiors that feel considered, tactile, and connected to their setting without relying on obvious island themes.

Natural Wood Tones and Rattan Elegance:

To infuse warmth and authenticity into our studio, we integrated natural wood tones and rattan elements throughout the space. The rattan wood serves as a nod to Hawaiian tradition, adding a touch of timeless elegance to our modern setting. This classic material creates a connection between our designs and the local craftsmanship, celebrating the island's culture while looking towards the future of design.

Captivating Ocean Views:

Nestled in Wailuku, our studio offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. The large windows not only invite ample natural light to flood our space but also serve as a constant reminder of the beauty and serenity that the island offers. Our designs aim to amplify these vistas, creating interiors that embrace the outdoors and blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living.

A Space for Creativity and Collaboration:

The studio is also a place for collaboration. Clients can review materials, furnishings, lighting, and design concepts alongside our team, allowing decisions to happen in a focused environment where the pieces of a project can be considered together.

Since opening the studio, the space has continued to evolve with Patina. New materials, samples, and project references are constantly moving through the studio as our team works across residential, hospitality, renovation, furnishings, lighting, and procurement projects throughout the islands.

As we are soon to be opening the doors to our interior design studio in Maui, we welcome you to experience the essence of tropical modernism, woven into every corner of our space. Black and white aesthetics harmonize with natural wood tones and rattan elements, while the ocean views serve as a constant source of inspiration. Come visit us (in the very near future) and let's embark on a transformative design adventure, embracing the tropical paradise that is Maui, Hawaii.
