Modern Mountain Escape
An art-centered Honolulu mountain home combining distinctive wood finishes, custom furniture and global collections.
Modern Mountain Escape is a Honolulu residence shaped by an extensive collection of artwork, furniture and objects gathered through the owner's travels. The interior brings together contrasting wood species and highly individual details rather than following a single decorative style.
Burled curly maple appears in the primary bedroom closet doors, Brazilian cherry in the living room and zebrawood in the kitchen. Other features include custom copper-fronted nightstands, ʻōhiʻa wood, decorative crystal details and artworks drawn from the owner's collection.
The result is a layered residential interior where the materials, craftsmanship and collected objects establish the home's character against its mountain setting on Oʻahu.
