Wailea Maui Oceanside Remodel

This Wailea oceanside residence called for a considered interior remodel that would retain the character of the home while reflecting the owners’ connection to the Pacific. Rather than replacing every surface, Patina preserved the original koa cabinetry and built on the warmth and craftsmanship already present.

The design incorporates Arts & Crafts–inspired woodwork, with ebony accents providing contrast to the koa. Ocean-blue finishes and textiles bring color into the rooms, linking the interiors visually to the view toward Molokini.

Vintage McGuire furniture and existing rattan and leather pieces were repurposed with custom upholstery. In the bedrooms, classic prints, florals and custom bedding create a softer counterpoint to the living areas. The result balances preservation, new furnishings and the home's distinctive Maui setting.
